1. How hardy are they compared to oscars?
2. What is the recommended tank size? (just the right size please, not too big nor too small)
3. Are they jumpers?
They are pricey over here and I don't want my money going down the drain. :D
Thanks.

Trying to keep them in numbers is hard work trying to find the right ratio. they need the same space as ocars as they can get 12" and they are a hrbrid so quite hardy although you here of premature deaths due to inbreeding

They can sometimes be weak because of inbreeding but most of them are very hardy. Id say 55 gallon bare minimum. There is no such thing as too small. I've heard stories of some jumping out. Just keep a lid on there

1. pretty hardy from what I've seen, but can have genetic faults that shorten lifespan. Watch for IPs and give them a good diet.

2. a standard 55 gallon will last awhile, if you can get a tank that is a column tank it could last longer because the tank is deeper. I have a 56 column that is 30"L x 24"H x 18"D. For a fish that grows quickly and gets 12 inches the deeper tank allows more turn around room. If I was looking at long term housing I would go for a standard 75 gallon just because there are stackable stands for two tanks. I'm trying to purchase one of those setups right now to move some fish around. Also, shortbody or bonsai could probably even go into a smaller tank, a bonsai would probably be ok in a 29 gallon.

3. Jumpers have been known, cover the tank with something, not worth risking it.

Thanks a bunch. It's approx. 10 inches, age unknown and been in the store for almost a year. I'm looking for a wet pet to go to the living room. I will post a pic later after work if it's still available and tell me what you guys think.

1. How hardy are they compared to oscars?
They are hardy.. To a certain extent. Flowerhorns overall have weak genetics which means they are more prone to diseases. If you do get a FH, be sure to have plenty of meds available.

2. What is the recommended tank size? (just the right size please, not too big nor too small)
A tank that has a width bigger than 12" for sure. 60 Gallons would be the minimum IMO.

3. Are they jumpers? All fish are capable of jumping. FH's are very weak fish lol. They tire out easily and the chances of them jumping is low, but they can jump.

Sorry, one more time:
