Cool looking pikes! They definitely look like bellycrawlers, but its possible they are a very similar species like geayi.

Loving the red gill spot!

So male belly crawlers come with red gill spots?
The reason I'm asking is coz I think they are belly crawlers but I can't find similar pics on the internet

I have seen Belly crawlers with an orange spot on the gill plate, never red like that . . . only on freshly imported specimens, all the ones I have ever seen lost the color very soon after import. Both males and females have them. They look awesome!

I hv them in my tank for some time already and thinking of selling them (though no one seems to want them) because I just want to concentrate on larger pikes

They are very interesting to watch though and although they are housed with my Vennies & Johanna, they can really hold their own ground. The bigger pikes don't even dare to touch them

They don't show the red all the time though. It's kinda like a mood thing
Also love the way they change their colours when they swim out and when they return to the driftwood
