Anyone know how long I should leave the divider up? Her egg tube is out and she even laid about 20 eggs on the rim of the dish but I just put her in there last night and I think it could be too soon. She has been very aggressive to tankmates in the past and my thai kamalau is by far my most valuable fish. Any advice?

NIce male but you should pump him up more before breeding. She is bigger then him so thats not a good thing.Next time trying pulling the divider before she lays her eggs so they can have time courting and getting used to each other.

That kamalau I sold you is turning out awesome and that female is interesting. I bet they would make some cool babies but your male is too small right now. He's not going to want to breed with her he's just going to want to fight her. He should be a decent sized larger than her before you try to breed them. Keep them divided and put the clay saucer thing near the divider so the male can fertilize them through the divider if he feels like it.

ya good luck with breeding, i am about ready with my big KML (got a nice female for him). My Female KML laid eggs already too. Keep us updated on what happens.

Thanks for the info guys. I will move the saucer next to the divider and hopefully get the male beefed up as quick as possible. I am pleased with how the kml's have turned out. The other is solo in a 55 for now and I am thinking it is a male also. I will post updates on all my fish if I have time this weekend. Warmer weather means more chores so I have less time to spend on here.
