At my desk
I just signed the form acknowledging the mandatory furlough my company is putting in place for the rest of the year.

Its better than being unemployed, but the 10% salary loss is a hard pill to swallow.

My bills arent getting any smaller so my hobbies will be the first cuts in my personal budget :(

Smile, work twice as hard, and when you are at home, start applying for another job...

Good luck man

For me its not quite at that point here yet, I know my job is secure through the end of May. If there is no new work on the books by mid April I will be looking.

10% isnt hoorible, but still sucks! time for more DIY!

I agree, it could be worse, like a 100% pay cut! And I will have two additional days off every month....... but I am not sure how that is going to work out because I work weekends now if there is work to be done.....

Everything I do is already DIY!!

Why wait though? If you get called in, offered a job, and find out you get your hours back/the company isn't going under, then you just tell the people you interviewed with "Thanks, but no thanks."

i lost mine yesterday. was told it was only for a month. i know we have work but my company also has a factory in mexico city which my boss just got back from there were he was teaching them how to put control panels on heaters... i make paint shops for auto companies... BMW of all companies was keeping me working. we might get a volkswagon job too but eitherway it looks like that might be going to mexico.
