Okay, I messed up somebody elses thread by mistake :nilly: so I'm going to try this again...

I have my 29 gallon set up with Java fern, moneywort and a couple other ground cover plants (not sure what the species is), used flourite, have about 4.5 wpg, DIY Co2, dosed with Clarify (due to extreme cloudiness, stated on the bottle it's safe for plants and reefs and recommended on the flourite bag itself), Seachem Flourish and Prime (due to the chloramines from the tap).

What do I need/should/could do? Do I need to add a couple fish to get some ammonia-nitrite-nitrate going or should I add Bio-Spira?

Thanks again guys! Its good to know your all around to help!!

whats your lightning NO or CF??? no need to buy bio spira, your plant will take care of your nitrate, ammonia, nitrite stuff.

It is best to put fast grower plants in a new setup, buy more plants. to fasten the cycling
your need a co2 and ferts with that lightning. check my sig, you will see my 29 gallon tank with flourite

Oh yeah, your tank is niiiiiiiiice:drool: !!!!! I have 2 Coralife 65 watts on my tank, so thats roughly 4.5 wpg. I was told the java ferns would grow quickly.

Could I throw some catfish in? Would a 4 line cat outgrow a 29 gallon by himself?

actually i dont like cats in a planted tank, sometimes they uprooting some small and stem plants. i recommend you to buy a Pressurized co2 system on lightning like that, or you can cut down the lightning to 65watts only, photoperiod is 8 hours.

I would hold off at least 4 weeks before adding fish. This will allow the plants some time to root themselves.
