Couldn't pass up this deal I saw on craigslist. Plus in my 55 gallon I have 2 tiger Oscars, 6 tinfoil barbs, 2 geos. So I knew my fish were going to out grow my 55 gallon. I wanted to go big, over 100 but I knew I was going to want something bigger. So my friend Rayshot1 convinced me to go for a 240 gallon. Found a 240 gallon acrylic with stand and canopy 2 110 Marineland biometric filters, lights and 300watt heater for $950. The tank just needed to be cleaned in the inside. Right now, everything is setup since Friday of last week. I took 25 gallons of my 55 gallon tank and put it in my 240 gallon along with the 70 tetra filter so I wouldn't have to cycle the tank for a week. I do plan on upgrading my filter to a fluval fx5 either this week or next.

Well everything is going good. I put in 1 tinfoil barb on Sunday. I did a water test for nitrate levels and everything checked out good. Monday, I added 1 more tinfoil barb and my nitrate levels were still good. Tuesday I added 2 more, nitrate levels were still good. Last night I added 2 more of my tinfoils. So all of them are in there right now. I still have my 2 tiger Oscars and my 2 geos to add. Hopefully, today I will add my tiger Oscars and maybe my geos on Friday or Saturday depending on my levels are. Here are some pics of the tank.

Special thanks to Rayshot1 and my other friend for helping pickup this tank and getting everything setup. Without there help none of this would've been possible.

Any advice on the tank? I am still not done decorating it and I know I need a better filter. For heaters I have 2 300 watt atm. On a side note I am running to powerheads for better circulation in the tank.

Nice steal! Too bad, my neck hurts now. Just kidding.

Haha sorry for the sideways pics. Once I get all the fish in there I'll take another pic but not sideways, lol.

After looking at my friends 240 gallon, my 55 gallon was way to small. Yes, I am thinking about getting a arawana. My friend just bought one last month. Terrible thing happened to it. In his 240 gallon in the back of the tank it's kind of open. Well his cat happened to get back there and snatched the arawana from inside the tank. The cat took the fish all the way to his wife's bed. And in the morning his wife woke up with the arawana next her. Freaked her out. I remember him paying $45 for the fish. They are nice looking fish.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Just need to fish it up.

Nice upgrade, like the looks of the stand and canopy. You might try some driftwood in there and some river rocks for a natural look.

That is a nice lookin setup! Do me a favor and put on a background to hide the cords and make the fish stand a little more!

I do have the background already. Right now I have the hang on filters. After I get my fluval fx5 I am putting on the background. Just not right now with those hang on filters. Just dropped a lot money on the tank. But this month it will be done.
