Right now I have a 66 gallon aquarium. (48"x20"x16")In this aquarium at the moment, I have

- 8" spotted gar
- 5" spotted gar
- 5" rocket gar
- 4" grey bichir
- 3" clown knifefish
- 4" clown loach
- 2" green terror
- 2" red tiger oscar
- 2" red devil

Now, I've read online that having multiple gars could be tricky, but I've had them for a month together now and they're insperable. The rocket gar also hangs out with them all day, we always call it "the longfish corner"

The senegal is always with the knifefish, they share this little cave I set up for them, they feed together and everything. Recently, I've introduced the loach, and they all school around together.

Ever since I got my oscar he's been pretty solo, he doesn't bother anyone, and no one bothers him. Sometimes he tries to steal my gar's feeders out of his mouth, but for the most part he's chill.

Today, I know a no no, I introduced a green terror and a red devil. I know a lot of people say this wouldn't work, and maybe it wont but I wanted to at least try, I'll be upgrading my gar tank soon so if it really doesn't work I'll keep them in the one they're in right now.

The devil, terror and oscar school around together now, they don't really pick on anyone. The devil goes around and checks out all the other fish all day long, but he doesn't try to bite them, or challenge them at all. Kind of like he wants to check up on what everyone's doing. He likes to think he's boss of the tank.

Earlier though, my 8" gar Charlie got pissed at him and he bit him a good 3 times today. My green terror has also gotten bitten by him once. My gar has never done this to any of the fish, they've been living in a peaceful environment. I have a lot of hiding places, yet a lot of open space. I know I'm WAYYYY overstocked, but they're all babies, and will be moved shortly.

any thoughts, suggestions, anything about this? As they get bigger, what should I expect? When (if I have to) should I isolate the red devil and/or terror. And who would be perfect tankmates in a 66?

those bad boys are going to grow out and become monsters. you will need a larger tank, but i'm sure you're aware of that.

I know I need a larger tank, I'm getting a 220.
The problem is though, will they be compatible in the long run? My red devil is nearly killing my knifefish so he's going in a 10gal for the night, looks like I'm getting rid of him.

also green terrors and oscars when matured can be extremely visouse towards each other to the point of death however some people have success with them

My Oscar and Terror are about 4" now. My stock has since changed dramatically, they're still fine with each other, I'm really hoping I can keep them together in the long run. Right now the only problem I have is my terror being attacked by my gars every once in a while. If it gets worse I"ll seperate him into another aquarium but I think we're good for now. At what size do osars and terrors fully mature?

a bigger aquarium gives more territorial space. So a 220 is a great ways to solve this prob. If it still dosen't work, return a few of the aggresive fish.
