I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gives advise of this forum. I read the forum most days , but don't post much. I learn from what you guys say everyday to people who need advise ,but I cannot myself give advise as I am not that level yet(I say yet b/c it is only a matter of time and pics before I can say I take reasonably good pics:badgrin: ;) ). I should post more pics so that I too can receive all this great advise ,but I am pretty busy and don't have much time to get them posted. Anyway like I said before ,thanks and I hope I can one day take pics like you guys.

Dave

Dave,

It is so nice to hear someone to take the time to say...thank you:-)

I think you should make the time and start posting some shots that we can evaluate.

Thanks...again.

No problem. All the advise that I have read here has improved my pics by leaps and bounds.

I have heaps of shots ,but I don't have good photo editing software to post a good quality pic, what I mean by this is that when I reduce the size of the pic with the standard microsoft software the pic becomes all pixelated and losses all of its sharpness. How much is PS in the states? Thanks

Your 30D should have come with some software that can help you at least crop the photos and do some basic retouching. Look for ZoomBrowser and Digital Photo Professional.

As for processing the RAW files, zoombrowser can do that as well, and can apply some corrections, but there is some fairly cheap software from ($99 USD) http://www.pixmantec.com/ called Rawshooter Premium. I say the premium, because the "esseitials" free version doesn't have 30D support in it.

You may also want to look for Photoshop Elements...

Yeah I can crop the photos, but I don't know how to touch up the pics at all using this software, is there a link to a manual that I could use. Also I can't reduce the size of the pics with this software, or can your photos be resized using this software?
