I have had my tank up and running for a month and a half now and everything has been going very smoothly. Only one man down so far and that was a tiger barb from petsmart, everything else looks very happy and healthy. I'm sure I am a bit overstocked when they grow but I'll sell some, or use it as an excuse to get another tank. :D It looks like a ton of fish when I write it all down, but by the looks it seems fine so far and water is good. I was able to score the tank, stand, and 2 filters for 150 on craigslist. Only downside is some small scratches. They are not very visible but the camera seems to pick them up really well.

Enough talking, stock list and pictures below.

3x Firemouth
1x Kribensis
1x German Ram
1x Butterfly Ram(?)
1x Golden Ram
2x Convicts
1x Neon Green Terror
1x Severum
1x Angelfish
1x Geophagus

1x Rainbow Shark
6x Tiger barbs
1x Black Ghost Knife
1x Clown Knife
1x Featherfin(?) albino pleco

marineland c360 canister + Marineland emperor 280 HOB with great water parameters

Are these gold colors normal?

Amazing tank, and the gold colors on the convict means she is a female convict cichlid.

nice set-up:drool:. im a fan of the rams and other dwarf cichlids myself

Thanks I wasn't sure if it was coloration or some sort of disease. I didn't notice it when I picked it up. Oh the joys of being colorblind. :grinno:

Anyone know if my "clown knife" really is a clown knife. The pictures I see of them have the dots toward the tail, where as this knife has stripes. I assumed its patterns changed but I may be wrong. I liked the fish either way and for $7 I was willing to chance it.

The tank looks good. I don't see that stock working out for the long term once some of the cichlids mature you will have to move fish around. Besides that all fish look good and I like the tank.

That's not a clown knife. It's a black ghost knife getting to be 20".

This is the guy in question.

i would get rid of the green terror he will one day kill your angelfish.

nice tank.. and yes you are going to be over stocked in the long run. the hardest part of stocking a tank that i find is it looking full but trying to keep in mind that every fish will grow much bigger then when you buy them.
