Hello folks. I just needed a few opinions for my FH.

1. I treat him with 6-8 pellets of OCEANFREE XO HUMPY HEAD daily.

Should i include starry pellets too ?

2. I see my FH yawn sometimes. Is this normal ? My water parameters seem fine.

3. I also want to know the best possible mate for my kamfa.

Would it be a female FH of any kind or a Blood parrot or a red devil or a severum or green terror ?

4. Filtration - What are the functions of the sponge, ceramic rings and activated carbon in the filters.

5. I feel my kamfa is lonely what can i add to cheer him up besides a mate.

6. How often should i deworm him ?

7. My kamfa seems to rub his mouth and gills ( right side) against the tank glass. I google this and found that it was due to ICK. But my FH has no such white spots, eats like a pig, is very active. He just rubs himself against the tank glass about 10 times in a day.

Currently i have MELAFIX,PIMAFIX,WARDLEY 3 IN 1 WATER CONDITIONER,OCEAN FREE STRESS RELEIVER SALT. Just windering if i need anything else.

1 that good keep his diet balanced and give him variety

2 that is completely normal

3 kamfas are usually infertile but i would try o breed him with a Zz or parrot

4 im not sure

5 flowerhorns are aggressive fish i wouldnt recommend tankmates

6 i have no idea

7 this is normal they bump in the glass all the time when he starts scratching himself on gravel then you know its ick

You'll be fine, just make sure your FH gets variety of food.

2. I see my FH yawn sometimes. Is this normal ? My water parameters seem fine.
Yes, FH yawns quite often. This is normal for a FH.

3. I also want to know the best possible mate for my kamfa.

Male blood parrot, unless you want them to breed in the future if you plan to keep them together permanently.

4. Filtration - What are the functions of the sponge, ceramic rings and activated carbon in the filters.
Sponge - trapping large debris/uneaten food.
Ceramic - grows bacteria for biological filtering(ammonia etc).
Activated carbon - chemical filtration(for example...cloudy water)

5. I feel my kamfa is lonely what can i add to cheer him up besides a mate.
Don't worry, they aren't lonely at all. They rather kill their tank mate for it. You can try using a mirror if you want.

6. How often should i deworm him ?
Not often at all, I would only recommend deworming him when you notice some type of worms.

7. My kamfa seems to rub his mouth and gills ( right side) against the tank glass. I google this and found that it was due to ICK. But my FH has no such white spots, eats like a pig, is very active. He just rubs himself against the tank glass about 10 times in a day.
This is normal, FH likes to rub against corners and rocks and against the tank. My FH does back flips at least 50 times a day.

Currently i have MELAFIX,PIMAFIX,WARDLEY 3 IN 1 WATER CONDITIONER,OCEAN FREE STRESS RELEIVER SALT. Just windering if i need anything else.
You might also want to carry Maracyn, Maracyn Two, Maracyn TC, General Cure, and Metronidazole incase of ducklips. You don't have to buy all of those but those are what I know of that has been successful. Although ducklip is not a guarantee to be able to cure. But it has been done so.

Yes, I notice my FH yawn all the time. It's quite normal. My FH will flash (rub on rocks) once in a while. If they do it a lot something is wrong but once in a while is okay, not all the time.

You need more variety of foods, like krill, bloodworms, crickets, ect. You get the point, the more variety you offer the better the colour and the healthier they will be, they will also be more excited about eating.

I agree, FH's don't get lonley, lol. They are VERY aggressive, most fish won't work unless you have a huge tank. You could try a parrot but be aware it might not work and you need a back up plan if it doesn't. But a BP is the most common fish kept with FH's. What size tank do you have?
