just wondering

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are actually quite a number around here who have experienced some success with paired or multiple aros in the same tank. I had a bonded spawning pair in a 950gal for many years (in truth, they only spawned once while I owned them). I originally bought 5 10-12 inchers and removed the most aggressive ones until I had 2 of slightly different size that kept together. Turned out to be a M/F pair. I got a spawn out of them before moving to a new home. The fish were set up in the same tank but, never spawned again after their relocation.

I currently keep 3 big silvers ( 25 cm long each ) together with no problem at all...have always mixed aros' silvers with jardinis, with asians with Leicahrdis and have never had something I could call agression...
I am waiting for a 2nd black which I will join with my first black..and a couple of jardinis will arive shortly. they will also, at least I'll try again, be kept together..
Cheers

thats really cool i thought no ones been successful since its basicly random to get a pair, but did the fry make it? do you still have the pair?

Our best guess was 21 eggs (we didn't strip the eggs). But, we were only able to successfully raise 14 fry past the yolk stage.

I wish I did still have them. They'd be 28 years old this year.
