If I were to get a 180 gallon (6'x2'x2') and put a red tiger mota and a Jag, would else could I put along with them? I was thinking about a Loiselli, but it would just look to similiar to the Jag IMO.. So, any suggestions would be great!:)

If you add all them fish say at about 2" then it may work out but there is also a chance for major problems because all those Cichlids are aggressive and similar in characteristics and most aggressive Cichlids dont like other Cichlids who resemble them. I think it would be cool to try to raise a Jaguar and Festae together mixed in with a whole bunch of dithers.

Yeah, I am worried about agression aswell, as most red tiger motas are pretty nasty. But, besides a festae, what else do you think would do well with a Jag? Because I know I want a Jag for sure!

Also wondering, what about a single male dovii?

For a solo Cichlid a Dovii would be great. I have a 14" male that is an absoulte beast and I dont have any hard feelings towards him for biting me a few days ago. There is an abundance of tankmates that would co inhabit with your Jaguar its all gonna be based on how psychotic the Jag is. I have seen more peaceful Jags housed with Severums and Uaru and then I have seen some who wont even tolerate a plecostmus. Good Jaguar tankmates are Festae, Trimacs, Buttikoferi, Midas, Red Devils, Texas, Black Belts and almost any other big bruiser you can think of.

Thats awesome, I just noticed youre in Washington.

Thanks for the info, I really like buttis, I was thinking of a Jag, Butti, Red devil, maybe a green terror aswell?

But I'm realling wondering about setting it up for a single dovii, as I can always get a 75 or two and put a Jag in one and a red devil/GT in the other while the dovii stays in the 180.

Guapotes tend to try to kill other guapotes, lol, and jags and motas are guapotes. A single male dovi you can do for sure. The guapote community tank in that size of a set up, no chance, lol, unless you raise em all together from juvenile stage, but then you run the risk of the jag outgrowing the mota and eating him. Motas are really slow growers where as jags are a lot faster. Cons and neets are always possible tank mates for any of those fish. With a jag, possibly an oscar which will get punked 24/7, another jag of the opposite sex, jd, gt, salvinis, nics, and other cichlids of similar size.

Haha, I'm going outta my mind.

But man, I'm really leaning towards a Dovii!

But If I do go with a Jag, I'll probably put it with a GT, and a JD, dont know what else though. I like the idea of an Oscar but it would probably get slaughtered.

Hmm, Badass Dovii, or a Jag and GT with some other fish. Hard to decide.
