Maybe im just lucky but these Orinos I got from Rapps on wed. are allready taking small pieces of market shrimp! I just noticed that they were mouthing just about anything foreign floating around in the tank so I gave it a shot, and they didnt even hesitate. They are about 3 inches long, so I just take about a dime sized piece and cut into 4 pieces. They nail it! And of course they devour live food as well. Next stop: pellets!

When I got my orinos which were around 1.5" they took shrimp the first night they were with me...so i guess its not that hard to get cichlas that are so tiny to eat shrimp...LOL even my new Pinima was eating shrimp and its only 2.5" 
What else are they grabbing?
man, thats super cool i converted one out of six to take in shirmp....i hope to convert all of them by the end of the month..good stuff bro.

I also give them frozen bloodworms, frozen mosquito larvae (they really dig those) and 1/2 dozen rosies once a week to give them "and me" some excitement
. They havent had live food since the first day, I may give them a shot at some live ghost shrimp on their next live day. I only feed them twice a day and I dont let them get totally stuffed. I vary what they get every feeding, hoping the variety will keep them happy and healthy.
Its funny these guys are so small, one large fresh prawn will last them a week. The lady at the seafood counter kinda giggled when I told her I just need one shrimp lol. .35 cents for a weeks worth of feedings... Hope I can handle that
