Will be using this thread to document my trial and error methods of rasing a community tank of peacocks (100% pellets), hope we can share some advice and we can all learn together :)

Tank will consist of Azuls, Kelberis, Orinos, hopefully they remain pellet train till adulthood. I was told the best way to have peacocks eat pellets is to train from young, therefore i hadsourced juv fishes from different suppliers to put together this project.

This is the main tank, 5ftx2ftx2ft

I have currently seperated the bigger fish from the smaller ones to close up the gap in sizes hopefully increasing the rate of achieving a successful community tank.

SOunds like your on the right track. There is no reason they shouldnt continue eating pellets. I like hikari massivore the most for growth.

yah like gangster said" Massivore is the only thing my bass will eat know! It would be so much ££ in England"

how come no plants or décor in grow tanks mate!

Are we not supposed to raise multiple species of cichla together? I have 5 different types all in the same tank, all juvies. Can I expect this to work? Sorry don't mean to hijack your thread.

They are currently on carnivore pellets, will try massivore when my current feed runs out :P so much money for pellets? i was hoping to convert them to koi pellets one day as its sooo much cheaper per kilo

no plants as i have dedicated planted tank mate! naw these guys move around too fast and if they knock into something it will be terrible. cleaning would be such a pain aswell  gotta love a easy to clean bare tank. ;)

hey no worries man, i think u are fine rasing multiple species at juv stage but if u mix them at adult stage the sudden clash for dominance would be utterly brutal in my mindset. but hey don't get me wrong, i have seen alot of established adult peacock tanks and there isnt an issue. my pond works fine as the parents have soooo much room to spread out and don't have to fight for the same territory,

some of the orinos i had* ( none remain all died due to bullying )

How they hekk do you lose all your orino's to bullying?
Sounds like another issue to me.

And the group of kels n azuls looks good. But ready for an upgrade.

the 4 orinos were kept together, one night the biggest orino 4" whacked the other 3 which are 2.5" till only he was left standing yes overnight . decided to give that gladiator wannabe to a friend before he could cause more trouble.

Ha, i hope no upgrade too soon.. the only remaining upgrade available is the pond.. and damn it would be hard to see them.
