I have a new L066 but he's only about 1 inch long.
He will be going into my four foot tank with an ebjd and some pep bns.

I didn't realise he would be that small when I got him. And I don't wanna put him straight in the big tank yet in case the ebjd picks on him or in case he doesn't find the food he's supposed to be eating.

At the moment I've got him in a floating box net thing (like a fry separator about 20cm long) and it's got a little piece of driftwood in it that he can hide under through the day.

He seems pretty happy in there and this way I can check if he's eaten all his food in the morning and I know he won't be bothered til he gets some more size on him. Plus i know once he goes free in the big tank I won't see him for a while and I won't know if he's alive or not for a while. Haha.

So all this lead up just to ask if it's ok to leave him in there for a bit til he bulks up a little? Will it slow up his growth or anything like that?

Or do you think I should just let him go free in the big tank?

He would go up and have a look and maybe a little chase but doesn't bite and once they swim off he forgets about them. I've got bns in there and that's all he does to them. They are a little bigger than the 066 but. I'm more worried about him getting enough food..

they are more than able to find food, I had a group of 1/2" or less bns and they would be the first of my plecos to hit food in my 46

He will be fine in the big tank. They are masters at hiding and finding food. Once the other fish get accustomed to him they will probally ignore it. I

I put him in about a month ago. And I hadn't seen him again until yesterday!!
I was so happy to see he was alive and healthy.
He's already grown heaps and getting fatter. So he must be getting leftover food at night.
And must be feeling bolder now too.
Just thought I'd update :)
