juvenile borlyei (kadango)

I recently purchased an unsexed borlyei, its fins are very rounded although its only 2 inches it has a blue sheen on the face and body. not very noticeable only when its at an angle but whats a good way to sex borlyei.

Females have greyish body yellow to orange fins.

its got yellow fins but it is still a juvie, I'm just hoping for a male hahah I guess I'll either have to vent it or wait it out.

It's hard to sex them @ 2". Usually the males will start to get a orange flank around 4" or so. Both will have the orange fins.

yeah I have read that they'll both have orange/yellow fins, I'll see what happens I guess

Look at the gills area for any sign of blue, otherwise you have a few months of waiting to be able to sex the fish.

it does have a shimmer of blue on its gill plate and lips
