I recently purchased 2 Flowerhorn juveniles about 2” long. Can I add them to my main tank with juvenile green terror, 2 juvenile jags about 3 1/2” long and a Sardini about 4 1/2” long? The jags are trying to bully them as of now.

Depends on the individual fishes aggression level, you can do it but also have a plan in place to remove any beat up fish.
I tried a similar thing with a green terror and a flowerhorn both under 2 inches, by the next morning the green terror knew who was boss

The Salvini is the boss as of now. The Jags are second behind him then the Flowerhorns. As I see now they all seem to coexist in the same tank. They seem to know the chain of command they have in place at the moment.

They’re in a 55 right now. I have a 125 but it’s not setup yet. Will do that this weekend. The 55 is suitable for now because of their size. I also have a 75 that I’ll be putting the Flowerhorns in by themselves til they get bigger.

Coincidently I did the exact same thing today as well. But with bigger fish. I got my FH he’s around 4in and when I acclimated him and set him free in the tank all he’ll broke loose. I have a pair of convicts who are obviously breeding and have babies along with a 5in GT who is basically the boss and a female along with a jack, EBJ, salvini, and firemouth all of which range from 2.5-5in. All in a 125. Long story short he saw the babies went for them the parents defended the babies and the second the GT saw him he attacked and the convicts helped gang up on him. He got beat up pretty bad so I removed him to a secondary for now. I’m at a loss on how to approach the situation.

Wow. So what are you’re plans when they get bigger? That 125 is not enough room for all those at adult size. The FH and Sardini alone will need their own space or massacres will occur. I was told to rearrange the decorations in the tank to reduce aggression. That didn’t really work. I’m going to house my FH’s in a 75 and my Sardini’s in the 125. Everything else will stay in the 55.

They all get along good as long as the jack doesn’t try to test the GT but if I have to remove a few to create space I will. I don’t plan on going bigger there’s a lot of room still and again if I have to I’ll remove some decor to create space the FH is the last fish I’ll bring in. Tbh I’m not in love with the slavini and the convicts and have friends who would take them in if need be so over populating isn’t my concern(which it isn’t now). The issue is the GT aggression towards the FH. Completely caught me off guard I was preparing for the exact opposite.

I do think the tables will turn eventually. FH are more aggressive. Tbh I’m not in love with the Salvini either. I do love my Jags though. But I’d rather have Dovii’s. So I may make that change.
