I have a juvenile Jar about 3.5" and would just like to know how long i can keep him in my 100 gallon tank. By that i mean, at what size should i move him to a larger tank, 8-10" inches? 12-15" inches? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, i just put a 8" inch Silver in there yesterday. Long story short: Friend bought a 7-8" inch Jar, Jar attacked his 8" inch Silver, Silver is now in my tank with my 3.5" Jar. At first the little Jar kinda kept to one corner but less than 30 minutes later it was swimming around normal again. So far so good but it's only been about a day. This is not a permanent solution, i know i can not keep both of them. Is there anything i should worry about?

you'll probably need to get the jardini a bigger tank when it's around 13".
100 gallon will be tight by that time.
6 x 2 x 2 will be good for a number of years though.

Thanks for the replies. How long do you think it will take for the Jar to grow from 3.5" to 12"?

i'd say like 7 months.
my estimate could be off, my best guess though.

my old 1 grew from 1~12 in 3 months , it also depends on ur feeding too

does dried shrimp helps in the speed of growth or it is only for coloration?
