This past June of 2025, I collected two juvenile Orangespotted Sunfish, both of which were ~1” in length. They stated off in a 20 tall for the next few months, growing to about 2”, and would mango grow more belly than length. Then they seemingly stopped growing. I was advised to upgrade them, to which I did, where I moved the two Orangespotted Sunfish, as well as a ~2” Longear Sunfish collected in around 11/25, to my 55 gallon. Soon after, they seemed to have grew some, but not much, and they seemed to have all slowed still.
Statistics:
Feed: Blood Worms and Brine Shrimp primarily, Mysis Shrimp on occasion, pellets are fed too

Water changes are typically every week, and are almost always at least 50%

They eat their fair share too. Temp is set to about 75 ish I believe, and they were at room temp previously.

Yes, they’re eating well. The eat readily.
That’s a good sign. I’d run at least two couple of rounds of metronidazole and praziquantel to treat for internal parasites. Preferably since they’re eating I’d recommend Ken’s medicated flakes.

I keep a tank with Lepomis gibbosus that I caught locally and treated them after I got them eating. I treat every WC fish for internal parasites with the Metro flake and then two rounds of Fritz Expel-P.
