Juvenile Lungfish - Diet?

Dear friends, recently got a juvenile lungfish (will post 2 pictures, my apologies for the poor quality but my ipad camera finds it hard to focus on the black surface). It's about 3", almost totally black but there are tiny little white spots especially around the head. It's very active, constantly swimming around, unlike my adult one which is practically active only during feeding time. Two questions:
1. They do not seem to respond to pellets which my adult lungfish absolutely loved. Do they eat only live food?
2. Can anyone identify what kind of lungfish that is?

South American Lungfish. They eat what the big boys eat, but smaller.
