I recently bought a pair of juvenile micros they are about an inch long. one of them is very active and eating like a monster. however, the other one isn't eating and is always floating at the top of the water not moving at all.. i have no idea whats wrong and maybe people over here can help out.

Maybe your micro need time to adapt on the new enviroment. Sometimes they need to feel secure first and then they thinking about eating. They are too young and don't know what to do when arrived at the new place. What did you feed them? Try another feeders than what you give them recently. Or you could ask your LFS what they feed them.

You could also read on my thread about baby plueros that I've posted a month ago. I've got so many opinions and I guess that will give you more options. Here is the link

I know that you'd already lost your micros recently. I just want to advise you that should keep more than two. At young stage anything could happens. I've already lost a few SH due to many reasons. So far, it is just only my striatas I could manage to keep all of them until they reach sub-adult. This is just an advise because I don't want you to feel dissapointed in keeping SH when you lost them :).

Cheers.

What exactly did you feed the two fishes?

I'll check out the link.
I fed them baby guppies as they weren't taking any pellet food or frozen food. only live

Try live tubifex worms if you have other fishes feeding on that and some to spare.

Juveniles at that size (1 inch) are generally very delicate... There are those that are simply born weak and die easily. If it isn't moving for a long time, it doesn't look good :( (let's hope I am wrong and it turns out okay).

The one that's very skinny isn't eating at all. I'll see if it can pull through the night.... Really hope I can get a pair of micros to keep. Lost 4 so far :(

It's a new day now. How's that non-active snakehead doing?

The head sank to the bottom. Dead... :(
Going to get more later today
