Could anyone help to ID this 2 fellas? I’m having some trouble as to determining if they are Kels or Orinos.

One major important thing to look for when considering the ID of orino, is the horizontal line. An orino's will never enter the tail section whatsoever. Your's does. Your answer is kelberi. It may have some traits of orino due to the ocellates looking the way they do.

Thanks for your identification. I thought so too in the horizontal line. But the ocellates threw me off, traits of orino.

Bottom pic of the juvies is sparky . and the top pick is of him now going on 13" .yours look better than mine .keep us posted.

With all the captive breeding and mixing of bass now it could also be possible that its a hybrid. Or it’s just another Asian breed kel which so many batches have looked different when young. You’ll have a better idea at the 8inch mark.
