Does anyone have any pics of their RTM's when they were about 1.5"-2"? I picked up what were sold to me as Red Motas and I want to see if I have actual RTMs or something else. I know parachromis at this size usually look similar, but I figured its worth a shot. I'll try to get some pics of them, but they move really fast and have not been cooperative with allowing pics so far. Thanks :)

Mine are 1-2'' but they're almost impossible to get a decent picture of lol. I also have a 3-4'' female but there's a pretty big difference in appearance between her and the fry

Thanks for the responses. I'm def not sure not if I have RTMs or something else :/ I was able to snap a few pics after I fed them. I'm hoping for the best, but after looking at everyone else's pics and a stop at an LFS they look like dovii fry

Those definitely don't look like dovii fry to me. Dovii don't usually show stripes at that age and their bodies are more elongated than other parachromis's (parachromii?). I don't blame u for being skeptical after that lfs didn't know the difference between red tiger motaguense and red motas, but those look rtm to me. Mayyybe freddy but most likely rtm ;) Are those all from the same batch of fry?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you are right and they are RTMs. May be because they are young they aren't showing their colors yet. They are all in the same tank at the LFS so I think they are all from the same batch.

I would agree on them not being dovii, the body shape doesn't look right for them. Definitely could be RTM, you won't see the colors show at this size yet, so might take a couple of months before you start seeing specific traits to ID them for sure.

Yea they are kinda young. I hope your right about them being RTMs. I've got a 5" male and I'm trying to grow him out a mate :)
