I grabbed a few of these guys from my LFS in the past month. I threw them in a juv crenicichla planted tank for now. I realize that they arent good with plants as they get bigger, but as of now havent touched them. When I bought them they were sort of pale, even worse when they got home. But now they are looking insane. I think that the plants really bring out the colors even more. Makes them POP! Also making my distochodus look like hes plugged in. Hope you like them. First timer with RTs so Im very pleased.

Man your luck they are so hard to fins out here at that size. I usually find them when they are full grown and people are trying to get rid of them

Awesome rob. What is the banded barb-looking fish there?

Distichodus sexifaciatus, a carachin from africa. The only african fish Ill keep. they get big to boot.

Female all the way, only time will tell, but Id bet my paycheck on it. They look just like my 2 females that are at 1" and 2". Mine are showing their black dorsals better but these fish are more orange the green, which small males tend to color as. Good luck on your Festae jouney!

I was told that it is hard to sex them at this size. If I do have females Im stoked. Even if its only 1. Thanks for props and replies.
