OK, this is sad that this is my first post, but I have a 4 inch silver arowana and yesterday day I noticed that in the middle of his back was missing scales and just white skin was showing. Its the exact same on the other side and the rest of the skin has blacked a bit. The anal fin has slight damage and the skin has split inbetween some of the spines. This is sad and he looked fine and silver two days ago. I am a perfectionist person and my water quality is alway supreme. My Ph is 6.8, ammonia is 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate is really low and never above 20ppm. I got a 50/50 reef light a week ago because my tank is planted hoping itwould make my plants thrive and my Aro to advance in color. It advanced the wrong way obviously is there anyone who has experienced this with their Aro or other fish? And any advice how to heal him? I'm using stresscoat right now and other than that I only use chemipure, and stabilize as a tank additive.

Seems everyone knows what they eat more than anything. How about being too close to a 50/50 reef light and getting sun burns? Anyone have a single idea they would like to share with me?

I you are just using the common aquarium lighting it's impossible to burn a fish.
It might be the fish stressed and jumped or it's simple just sick..

sounds like a jumping injury. i use stronger lights on my tanks. just keeper the water clean and youll be fine.
