For best colours and wellbeing I would suggest a varied diet but try to feed them cichlid pellets as their staple food. They will also readily eat bloodworms, brineshrimp and will relish the occasional live food as a treat. Be sure that any feeders you give to them are free from parasites and are fed properly themselves. Oscars as a general rule will eat anything that will fit in their BIG mouths and are very greedy so best to feed them mostly a commercial staple food that is relatively cheap compaired to always buying feeders, although you can always setup a small tank to breed feeders so you can be sure they are healthy.I only recently accuired two juveniles myself, also my first time keeping oscars and so far so good. Good luck with em.
