In a 55g growout i have tiny cichlids, 1 jag, 1 jd, and 2 servums not sure on kind but a light green color, all about 1-2" , and also 1 senegal birchir. I feed them a cube of bloodworms once a day, should that be twice and is there any other foods that i can give them? And also how much of a wc should i do is there a percentage i should be changing? And also what is the expected growth rate on each of those fish?

feeding blood worms will get nice growth but you should vary their diet. i like hakari and omega one products. i grew my severums on frozen blood worms, freeze dried shrimp/krill, cichlid flakes, floating pellets, shrimp pellets, frozen brine shrimp. same goes for the senegal. just vary their diet and feed them 2 times a day

not sure about the jag and jd but my severums grew from 2-5" in about 3-4months (they slowed down once they started breeding). ive had my senegal for almost a year and he's about 7" now from 1.5" when i got him

Bloodworms are a great treat but they should have a staple diet of small pellets or flakes that contain most of what they need in their diet. Try Hikari Cichlid baby pellets. Test your water and devise a water change schedule that ensures your nitrates are never over 20ppm.

I've been growing out some juvie fry and the keys are variety and frequent water changes.

I feed them three different types of pellets (kensfish.com) flake, frozen bloodworms, and change 20-30% every 3-4 days. Sometimes I change it more. They are growing like weeds.

FRY is right, test/check your water and monitor nitrates regularly.

alright thanks guys exactly what i needed and hikari baby pellets i look what i can find so i can get a staple and keep up on water changes

I'd expect the jag to grow quicker than the rest, followed by the severums and the jd. Just something to think about as they grow...give the smaller guys lots of cover.

My growout is a 55G, I do 50% wc weekly and feed Hikari Gold supplemented with f/d krill (the bits from the bag of krill my big fish eat) and f/d earthworms. I keep it around 82F and I've always gotten good growth from what I've grown out in there (severums, JD) and getting solid growth from my festivums and very fast growth from my cigar sharks.
