Had a Juwel Rekord 600 tank for well over a year now and it has coped fine. Only problem I can note is the lighting.. a few months in the switch to turn the light on made a crackly-electric sound and would only leave the light on when pressed to a certain point.. over time it's gotten worse and yesterday the light won't stay on at all.. I took the switch apart and all looks fine, wiring all in place, so I gave it a quick clean but still no luck!
I bought a new bulb and fitted it - still no luck, wouldn't work...
So I tweaked the bulb around a bit and bingo! it turned on, only to turn off 10 seconds later.. so I twist and turn the bulb a bit more.. success.. until 10 seconds later when it turns off..
Any ideas as to what I need to do to fix this? Is it a ballast issue? It's so frustrating and my plants are dieing with no light!
