Helo i aded yesterday a knifefish to my tank wich had a pack bass and a baby shovelnose
Knife is 3 inch and others were 2 and a half. Dead now

I don't think water quality is a problem but du you think it's possible the clown knife killed them? And if yes is it normal that so small they are this agressive

Seen this from your post about gars but very likely was the knife… I’m presuming clown? They have deceptively large mouths mines about 4-5” in with two bichirs 1x4” 1x6” and initially had a 4”tiger shovel nose which the knife fish demolished over night luckily the bichirs are a bit more bold and didn’t give it a chance, so I managed to get a 5-6” shovel nose and that ones doing okay in there

So I can keep knife clown with bichir and tsn u think?

Yeah, mine are currently quite happy but you have to monitor as they grow as the knife and tsn would grow much quicker… mine are all in a grow out together and mostly keep to themselves… I’ve found it’s mostly about balancing size and boisterousness… the tsn is the most timid in the tank hence why I made sure he was about the same length if not a little bigger than the knife :)

Also ensure to have plenty of breaks in line of sight, I have a piece of wood and fake plants so they can all get away and have their own areas within the tank. It stops the competing and can disperse aggression slightly
