K1 and melafix

I've had my k1 running for a while now. I had to dose my tank with melafix for some bumps and bruises on my id shark. almost instantly my k1 stopped being turbulent and rose in the water column causing it to "erupt" from the compartment it was in.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Yeah your not meant to put meds In a tank with a fluid bed, something to do with the oxidation in the filter and the bacteria. Your meant to turn off the fluid bed before dosing with meds.

I would guess it has something to do with the fact that melafix is an oil based med as well...separation of water and oil and all...
