So I am relatively new with this stuff but figured out having it in a sump is a complete nightmare. Seems to migrate to other areas to much for my liking. New plan is to move it to a 55 gallon rain barrel and enclose it. Firstly I do have enough to fill about 50-60% of the drum so the surface area should not be a problem, Only problem I see is the pump going in. I intend on covering a FX5 full of mechanical media into the inlet pump into the barrel. Does anyone see an issue with this? Is it to much flow in? The filtration is overkill but I kinda like overkill.
