Hey all,

I just got a bunch of k1 given to me, and I was wondering if it would work in my canister filter or my ac110. I current use bio rings and stars.

It has a surface, so it will "work" in the sense that it will provide space for nitrifying bacteria to grow. If your current bio media is working fine I'd sell the K1 and stick with that, in a canister filter surface area is surface area, regardless of whether it is K1, bio rings, pot scrubbies or GI Joes.

If you want to use the K1 as it is intended you'll need to build a proper filter/reactor for it so it can "boil".

The stuff ain't cheap. Post it on the Marketplace, sell it and buy Matrix. It is better suited for a cannister. In small quantities it is about $4 a liter on ebay. It's $116 for 50 liters shipped.
