Hey Everyone!!
So I have finished my first multi sump, when the unit came to me the old owners had bio balls in the internal over flows I tried to take them all out for a wash as the unit was used on salt and planned on putting them back in but after reading all the issue in nitrate build ups using bioballs I decided against it some what, I tried one tank with the bio balls and well noticed something!
the force of the flow is enough to lift the bioballs up and move them around etc but they cant get out of the overflow, so I was wondering if you guys reckon K1 media would work in here as it has to be moving around 24/7 normally with an air stone to create the movement but my system would work the same I believe? any ideas if this would work?
also my bulk heads are shut off with large mesh so the K1 should not be able to fit.
