The tally for almost dying for my South American Bumblebee is now to 3!

Recap:

1. He jumped out of the tank and (1a.) the cat picked him up.

2. While clean up the sand in my tank, he swam up the tube and out my window. I had to sift through the dirt to find him.

3. Now, he swam up the filter some how, stayed for 2 day (thought he got eaten). I heard a loud noice out of one o fmy filters so i checked it out and their he was..

Hes determined to die for some reason! I hope he doesnt he is my favorite of the tank.

LOL, sorry this post is just too funy. My favorite is when the fish went out the window.

Any fish head doctors out there to help this fish out with its death wish?

Wow... smart fish...

Cant say much for jumping out or out the window (that takes skill) but the filter can be fixed easily enough. If he swam up the intake, some batting (like net material you can find at any fabric store for really cheap) take some and rubberband it around your intake. Works great for me. (of course if its still alive, probably didn't go up the intake... impellers are hell on fish heads... Thats how i lost one of my polypterus. When I pulled him out, he had no head...Guess he wanted to make himself into chum for the rest of em...)

Only other thing is if it swam up the output... well... only way to really fix that is lower the water level in the tank a bit... I had a bristlenose pleco that kept doing that... Id lose her and just take the filter media out to find her chillin in the bottom of the filter...
You could try to fix some batting to that depending on what kind of filter you have... could also add something right below the output like a rock or aquarium decoration so theres too much current there and not enough room for momentum to get up into the filter...

Just some ideas

wow.. haha.. just wow..

Blurock : the other day what the first day i completely filled tge tank and im sure he just swam in. But what really got me wonder what how did it get the filter to make that loud buzzing noice? If that noice never happened i never would have open the filter lid.

Kamikazee is one crazy ass little fish.:headbang2

I'm surprised that it's doing that... Bumblebees are usually really happy just chillin in their hiding place... you do have a hiding place for it right?

:ROFL:talk about your EMO fish... this thing is just cryin out for love and affection...Or... perhaps you need to take better care of it if it would rather be dead :j/k:

That's odd for a bumblebee cat. Mine is always hidden and only comes out at night. At one point I had not seen it for over 6 months and forgot about it until one day will cleaning the tank it came running out from behind a rock. Hopefully yours decides to stick around for a while. Finding a crispy fish on the floor or one dead in the filter is always depressing.
