ok so I have had my group of tiger shrimp for about a month now..when I got them i noticed a few were darker and did not think much of it..until I spotted this in my tank...

Is this normal? a few of my younger ones are showing blue as well...Im not sure where the guy i got them from got his stock ( i got all of his)..some have bright red stripes..some have bright black..and these guys.

do they change colors?..they do not look like normal blues to me they have black eyes like the rest of my tigers.

How many generations of shrimp are in your tank? It is quit common after awhile to get a mix of colors from a shrimp colony. I started out with blood red shrimp years ago and now have a rainbow of reds, blues, greens, yellows, and striped. I add 10 or so red shrimp every now and then for "new blood" but still end up with all colors. It's like guppies; new colors just show up after awhile, especially because of inbreeding. Cull the odd colored shrimp if you want to keep pure lines, but IMO there isn't much else you can do. It's just nature.

Not sure..I have only had them about a month, The guy i got them from started with about 20 and ended up with 100s by the time i came to get them...about a year year and a half?.

If its just a color morph than yay!..that is cool I even have some with bright red stripes..I am thinking of separating each color out and breeding them to each other to see what I get.

They are getting some pretty intense blue!

that sounds like an interesting project. try seperating the colors into different tanks. see what you get. i actually do something similar with my shrimp. i put 20 or so males in 1 tank, and 40 or so females in another. i then let them mature and pick out only the reddest.

then i start a whole new tank with those. i'm on my 3rd generation now with veryveryvery red shrimp.
