Hey guys,

it has been a while with an update of me kitties so here it goes. For reference the tile length is 40cm. Old O is no more after paimas were moved in - not sure who killed him, i am sure one of the RTCs ate him

Resident cats are 2xRTCs and one marble pim

Well some more pix in this thread which is more about arapaimas

thanks for your kind words though the weather here is not that kind in winter (though i am sure not as bad as at your place). i have to use heaters in winters (learnt the hard way = loss three paimas last winter)

Yeah I don't think I could afford the heating cost here, even if it could keep the fish alive. People hear that I'm in Florida and expect tropical weather but it can get pretty cold. Which just means I'll have to waterproof the garage and put in a viewing window one of the days lol.

really? in florida? you need a heater - i guess live and learn. overhere i have to use several 500W heaters during winter for about 3 months - the heaters do not keep the water in the optimum range but it seems enough for fish to survive. once out of winter then no probs.

Yeah winters here will drop down into the 20s(F) and occasionally we'll get snow, though it doesnt actually stay on the ground. Florida is a long state. I live almost 400 miles north of the scenic "tropical" areas. We don't have anything near the invasive problem that Miami does.
