Kauai, Hawaii Fishing??

I may be visiting the island of Kauai and was curious if anyone has gone fishing there, either freshwater or saltwater. In my stay there I would like to go on a charter or something and do some saltwater fishing as well as possibly catch some cichlids if they reside in any lakes or ponds there.

I live on oahu. I've been saltwater fishing my entire life and done alittle freshwater fishing here and there. Kauai actually has the best freshwater fishing out of all the hawaiian islands www.hawaiibeachcombers.com might help you get in contact with some charters. On oahu there is only 1 freshwater fishing charter www.hawaiibassfishing.com which takes you to catch peacock bass mostly. I would do your freshwater fishing for trout and bass in kauai and hop over to oahu and do your saltwater trolling since I've heard theres been some trolling fish comming in and maybe jump on the midnight bottomfishing boat "sashimi II" over at the docks across ward warehouse. It only cost about $30 if they think you're kama aina(local) so try to look the part

Alright. Thanks for the info. There is a guy on another forum who fishes in Oahu and he catches all types of cichlids. I was hoping there was some on Kauai but i dont think there is. Thanks again!!
