theres a beastly fishing stream within lake peachtree in my hometown, small lake. and its only accessable by cayak, small canoe. And in august its loaded with 10lb + bass, gizzard shad, 1ft long SUNFISH! I mean its a fishermens heaven, and averages 3ft deep! so i need some upgrades for my yak. I have a 10ft Perception Kayak. What upgrades should i get, a carbon fiber paddle was one b/c my friend is a kayak beast and he said thats a good upgrade from stock. any other ideas or sites? Thanks. OO and i like to stand up and sitefish and stand when my legs are tired, so anythint that adds stability is a +

I use a 14' canoe to fish out of. More stable, more room. I have always been able to get to wherever my friends in kayaks go. It's lightweight aluminum too. Only 42lbs. I use a kayak paddle and it works great.

i was also planning on buying another fishing sepecialty yak, but the cheapest i saw was $630. And wow i just realized that saw and was are the exact same spelled either way. but yea i play lacrosse, fish and kayak and my budget wont allow all that expensive stuff, like $600+ kayaks, $100 shafts and $100 rods and reels. dont have that kind of $$$, but i wish!

Try and find a used one man. I personally would go with an Old town kayak, they are real stable and worth the money imo.
Canoes are fun with two people, but if I were by myself I would go with the kayak.

I know this is an old thread but I must say that kayaks are more stable than canoes. I also recomend a sit on top kayak for fishing. Old town is an alright brand, but there are better kayak makers out there. I got my tarpon 120 off craigslist for 200 bucks, find a used one, and take it to the ocean. Thats where the real fishing is done in a kayak.

Hey you fishing suwanne creek?
Nver mind which creek though theres like three.

My father and I both have the Pungo Series kayaks, they're great, fully adjustable seats so you can get out without a back ache and the bungee cords that run along the tops are great for holding the rods and keeping them out of the way, plus the storage in the back is enough for all the gear and the soft pack cooler of beer!
