I can still remember clearly buying a power head that served my tank almost 1 year then suddenly my 15 gallon tank exploded which cause my mbunas to eat their own young T-T because of shock maybe. After tranfering them I move the power head to my 50 gallon tank. At around 2 am I heard a sudden bang and the sound of water spilling. Then I saw my 50 gallon tank is leaking water. After cleaning the tank I recognize that the power head is not in position and very hot the suction cups are not in place that same thing happened to my 15 gallon tank. The powerhead is so hot I also notice the wire is broken which could be the reason why my two tanks shattered:cry:. Now everytime I have a powerhead I check it regularly to see if its broken. And It happened again. Luckily my tank wasn't broken this time so I shut the power down and remove the powerhead the wire is bitten by my pacu .So always check your powerheads to see if there is something wrong with it.

Hrm, this is good advice. I have a powerhead connected to my UV right now that i might need to test like this. I know recently while making a mod to my tank i had pinched the wire. Maybe that's why the powerhead portion isn't working right now.
