Most members dont believe that Panaque plecos chew on silicone. Well I just thought I'd share some pics that show the potential damage that these plecos can cause. I've had to reseal my 120gh because of two 9"ers. I love royals and am not trying discourage members but help bring awareness that they can do some damage. Heres my 18" boy. (take a look at the intake)

The paint job looks smoother than what I would of thought for paint. Good job.

Man i'm good guessing the pleco. :D How well would you say it would get on with a L-191, L-128, L-200?

I wouldnt keep the L-191 or a L-330 with the L-128 and L-200. Big difference with max size and panaques tend to be quite aggressive to other plecos.

I had a black ghost knife that did the same thing. I know some animals eat odd things (dogs grass or big catfish rocks) because whatever it is that theyre eating is either missing in the animals diet or for help with digestion. Maybe you should up the amount of aquarium sealant youre feeding, you might need to sneak it to him though maybe glue some algae wafers to the painted black bottom? It might be easier if it was a predator with the silicon fetish- just gut load some crickets, then BAM problem solved.
