A short while back I had run out of pellet food for my stable so on the way home from work I figured I would stop at Petsmart and grab a bag of pellets to tide them over until I placed my online food order.Well, all they had was this stuff which seems to be their house brand so I bought it thinking that while it may not be the best food for my fish it certainly cant be the worst on a temporary basis. But boy oh boy, after about a week of tossing in about a small handful a day the water in two of my tanks was stained orange!.....I'm not sure about the quality of their orher products but I know,I won't be buying anymore more Top Fin pellets.

Sounds like tetra prima, my bichirs had orange poop!

I bought some basically under the same circumstances a couple of years ago, and noticed very little was digested. Basically it seemed like 85% of what the fish ate was excreted a couple of hours later. Definitely does not get the Good Housekeeping seal of approval.

Hah and that reminds me of the Tetra floating pellet sticks that I used years ago....had my tank looking like I added Blackwater extract.

That sucks and takes a minute to get your water looking right again.

Hah!....neither would I.This stuff is about the same color as other commonly sold pellets.

a long time ago i got red pellets for my angelfish. everything turned red and it was a pain to get out of the tank

I can imagine the colorful stringy results of feeding this junk to a tank full of plecos.
