My friends wanna keep his RTC in a 250g tank for life, he says it might stop in growth and be at most 45-50cm. What do you guys say, let's see it from both views, from the view of owner of the RTC and from the RTC itself. By both views I mean is it possible to keep it there but not very nice fot the RTC. And what will the result probably be? I have seen RTC stopped growing at 60cm and lived for many years in like 350g tanks, but 250? I dunno :(

So let's tell him what to do:

:headbang2 = yea keep it in the 250g
or:
:banhim:
or maybe just a: :screwy:= you are one stupid ***---***

id say it was a rediculous idea and that is not the fish for you. I'd also start to read about the fish, and about the fishkeeping hobby, starting at point one.

Well now it's not me, it's my friend I told him to have a bigger tank but well he is dumb thinking that ít would work

I'd say no considering it would not be able to turn comfortably, you could house one in a 250 for about 1 year, maybe, then a larger home would be needed.

sorry i realised it wasn't you, i meant i'd tell him. I would do my best to try and change his mind, but theres only so much you can do. Stunting is very cruel on the fish, and an RTC is one of the worst fish available to do so.

:) Yea I'm gonna take the fish away from him when I build my 750g tank. Hope that will do for my RTC, TSN and Lima. But that sure will do right? I mean 750g tank has plenty room even for these monsters.
But back to the thing, I can't help thinking that he is gonna try to stunt the fish in a 250g and its 'bout 3" now. At what size will it stunt at if he actually go along with it (I'm curious since I have a 250g tank meself) and I'm gonna have to have my RTC there for about half a year from now.
