keep the lights off

I just got a 6" black ghost knife i have it in a tank on its own. wondering if its alrigth to just keep the lights off it gets some ambient light from the other tanks and a small window. Any one see a problem with this? i'm goin to get it a piece of black pvc to hide in. this will be temporary like i said i just got him so it is in isolation

I wouldn't think they really need any light to live. I kept my community tank dark for a week or two once after my light broke and my African Brown Knife was untarnished.

hey thanks for the replys with it being nocturnal liking the night shift i didn't see there being a problem

Definitely fine with them. In fact, they probably prefer it that way, lol. They are nocturnal, so no lights is a good thing for them.

eventualy it will get used to the lighting and feed/be active in the day...
