Keeping 2 eels without fighting

Hi,

Looking through many youtube videos, I notice people can keep two or more fire eels together without any fighting. I notice in most of those video, they don't have any hiding place for those eels. Do you think removing all of the hiding place such as caves/pipes will make them less likely to fight maybe over territory.

Also, have anyone ever tried using food soaked in garlic guard to eels that doesn't eat? I heard garlic will entice fish to eat.

I had an eel and added a fire eel with it no issues, housed together for 3-4 months with sand bottom, both would bury themselves. I moved the fire eel to a different tank for a week and he seemed to be depressed. So I returned it to the original tank and the other eel attacked it non stop. Had to take it back out.
