Has anyone sucessfully raised 2 silver arowanas together? It has always been a dream of mine to have a pair of silver arowanas or even 1 silver and 1 black arowana. I am thinking of getting 2 baby silvers or a baby silver and a baby black about 5-7'' and raise them together. I would be purchasing them together and adding them to the aquarium together. How would I go about ensuring it works out? Tank size is a 6' aquarium...it is an older aquarium very long heavy and thick glass. I'm gonna go out and say it's a 125 gallon.
Thier tankmates will be 5 red hook silver dollars, a clown knife, lima shovelnose, tiger shovelnose, and fire eel.
I am working on getting a pool pond set up for the large fish when they outgrow the aquarium.

I would wait until you have your pond set up. Your tank might last one 6 months tops but the bioload of two medium sized aros let alone the room is really pushing it with that small of a tank. Aros are very prone to hurting themselves when cramped as well.

To answer your question though, with ample room you could even have 3,4,5, or even 6 of them together.

For your pond build minimum aro requirements for one are 8’x3.5’x18”

Look forward to seeing your build though!

I would recommend waiting until you have more than one large tank. It's rare for two aros to get along. Usually one will bully the other relentlessly. You will need to be able to seperate the fish if they fight.
