Has anyone had success keeping them together from 60cm and up.

I have one that I got in 2006 from Li and it is between 98cm to 101cm. I sectioned off about 15,000 litre section of my 56,000 litre tank where I keep it.

Recently I obtained a young 60cm AUL. It is in a 907 litre quarantine tank at present.

I would like to put them together in the future and that is why I am asking for your experiences.

I know Li had several together but at that time they were juveniles about 30cm long.

x-tank had quite a few together as well at one point.
JL did as well im pretty sure.

I saw a youtube video from a zoo that had what looked to be about 6 all over 3 ft in the same tank. They were all coming up to be hand fed by a keeper.

The Vancouver Aquarium had a set up last year with 6 or 7 AUL's of 40-50 cm in size; it was a big tank (10,000 liters+). Seemed to be working okay as a set up when I visited.

I kept 4 AUL before at 25-30" and they do fine. It's actually the juvenile at less than 4" that u have to worry about mixing as they nip each other. They become docile as they grow.

Thanks,

Do you still have them together?

What size is/was the tank?

I no longer have them. They used to be in my 700g. I sold my 700g along with the lungfish back in 2012. The new owner still have them together though and they are now pass 30"+.

I have two AUL (35cm each) in a 500 liters tank. They nip achother. I am a little worry about this. They recovered for small wounds but I think I will separate both.

I was thinking to add small fish mate to decrease agression. What do you think about?

Sincerely.

It seems from King-el's experience when they are young like yours are they can be aggressive. Dither fish might help.

I have put my young one that is about 68cm + in with my older one (100cm) and they are doing very well together. no aggression between them at all. The section of the tank they are in is about 15,000 litres.

Thank you very much.

At last I will place my fish in a pond. Space seems to be the solution.

Your 15000 gallons aquarium in wonderfull. Congratulation.
