I was wondering if anyone has experience keeping a Flowerhorn pair together in the same tank without a divider. I have seen some videos of a pair living together but I know that often the male is too aggressive. Does anyone have this setup or have done it in the past? If so are there any tips?

Tried it a couple years ago with quite a few pairs. The result just isn't pretty. No dividers when spawning and maybe a couple days together guarding eggs but after that it's a huge gamble, not saying keeping 2 Flowerhorns together without a divider isn't a gamble in and of itself.

Would use divider. Have a female I'm trying to nurse back to health. She got beat up bad even with a divider.

No. Had a hole that only she could fit through. She laid eggs on his side. Not sure what happened after that but when I came home from work she was on her side all torn up.

2015-06-11-21-34-26.jpg 2015-06-11-21-35-02.jpg I have posted pics of my pair together. Have a 12" Silk and a 5-6" fader srd. And it has been fine for the past 4 months and she has laid 6 batches but only 2 batches were fertilized eggs. Had to much current and it was washing away his sperm. They have eaten every batch after 48 hours. I just left a deposit today in a proven female silk that I will put in with my male silk. Cohabing is just hit or miss. I have lost 3 big females in the past even with dividers.
