Yep wild caught in my utility room lol. I assume that its a huge wolf spider. My husband wanted to kill it but i decided to keep it. Anyways ive had it for about 2.5wks now and its taking crickets from tweezers and drinks out of a bottle cap. I have a couple baby tarantulas so i thought id see how long i could keep this guy going too, scared the crap outta me when it grabbed the cricket from the tweezers the first time lol. My family thinks im nuts but o well ive been hearing that my whole life :D ..anybody else out there tried to keep one of these guys alive just for fun?

yeah i put this one in a kritter keeper and since i have tons of crickets that i feed to my other spiders and my bearded dragon i figured id just try that..took a few days for it to eat em but once it figured it out it started snatching em up then seemed to realize the tweezers brought the crickets so now it just takes em right from the tweezers..Ive had my tarantulas for months now and they still wont do that..

Cool, im keeping a black widow right now. I would rather have a wolf, this morning a wolf spider just jumped at my get this morning, but accidentally Squished it when I jumped lol

Never kept a wolf spider, have kept jumping spiders and tarantulas though.

I did however see someone giving away a wolf spider for free on Kijiji. The ad is gone now, but here's a screen shoot from when I shared it on Facebook to prove it existed. The ad was really funny and well written. He was suggesting whoever adopts it use it to scare someone they love, I would've kept it though!
