Alright so my Fire eel won't eat anything but live blackworms. My LFS only sells like 1/4 of an ounce size of live blackworms at a time if that. It will last about a week for my eel, but they die quickly, even rinsing them once a day with chilled dechloronated water. Also it's a pain to drive 45-50 minutes each way once a week just to get a $1 thing of blackworms. I would buy more at a time, but they go bad too quickly. Still only equaling about a weeks worth. I only tried two at once so far. So I was wondering what's the best way to keep these buggers alive? It won't my much of a problem during the school year since it would only be about 10 minutes out of the way only drive back from university 5 days a week. But during these summer months it's quite a pain because I work so much. So suggestions please? Worst comes to worst I'll deal with it, but I would like to make things easier. Also, yes I am trying to get Apollo (the fire eel) onto frozen foods with little success. (I've only had him a month) he will nip at only bloodworms but won't devour them like live blackworms.

Oh and sorry in advanced, but I'm doing thing from my phone as my sleeping pill is kicking in. Just so you know why there are spelling and grammar mistakes lol.

just buy a large amount of worms keep them in a plastic cat litter pan so they can spread out and arn't all on top of each other. Keep it in a refridgeratar. Rinse daily with cold water. You should be able to keep them for a long time

I keep them in a couple of 20"x20" tanks in 3" deep water.sand bottom and sponge filters.I vac them out of the sand once or twice a week and feed to the fish.the more often I change the water the faster they reproduce.I feed them fishfood or chicken feed.
