Keeping boulengerella with cichla

I have kept them but not with pbass. I can imagine it’ll get outcompeted. Eventually predated on as they are usually to slender and slow growing.
I do know of one person with a cuvieri and pbass. The cuvieri is big and the pbass are a bit smaller. They all seem to tolerate each other.

Yeah,havent kept Boulengerella at all but it just seems like one will eventually eat the other....size permitting.
All this recent characin talk has got me wanting to get an ace to grow out!
I’m with you. I’ve always admired them but hate the inconvenience of live food. Easier jut to order a bag of masssivore and cans of FD krill.
I was. Had teacher fish with them. Hujetas and converted red tails. Took a while but eventually got it. Used water current and live crickets mixed with pellets etc.
